VECTOR Network CBD Reinforcement Project - Penrose to Hobson St Tunnel

Maintaining tunnel air temperatures is critical in ensuring that the electric power cables laid in the tunnel and which provide electricity to Auckland city CBD, do not overheat. The control system supplied by Horizon Technology to perform this important task consists of:

• Distributed Siemens S7-315 and S7-224 PLCs linked together via ProfiBus performing tunnel air temperature, drainage and tunnel access control.
• Citect SCADA system communicating via Industrial Ethernet to a network of S7-315 controllers; providing alarm list and annunciation, historical data collection, graphical screen displays and operator control interface.
