New Zealand Sugar Company - Chelsea Refinery

Chelsea is New Zealand's only sugar refinery so it is vital that the control of the refining process is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Built in 1883 with locally made bricks and Kauri from the surrounding land our ten-year association with this Historic site represents only a small part of the refinery's history. However over this time we've been privileged to participate in many important process control upgrades. Key services and control system components we have supplied include:

• Supply of a site-wide Citect SCADA system for process indication, control, alarming, trending and data collection.
• Upgrading of the existing Texas Instruments PLCs to Siemens distributed Simatic-555 systems.
• Introducing Ethernet process communication via optical fibre to the site.
• Integration of OEM supplied Siemens S7-300 control systems into the site control networks
• Product support for independent systems integrators engaged by NZ Sugar.
• Emergency after-hours support services.
